Luminaries Who Guide Us
Shrutinandan International is honored to be guided by extraordinary individuals who represent the finest in art, science, and human achievement — united by a shared belief in the transformative power of music.
Nobel Laureate in Chemistry
Roald Hoffmann is a Polish-American theoretical chemist who was awarded the 1981 Nobel Prize in Chemistry for his theories on the course of chemical reactions.
Beyond science, Hoffmann is a poet and playwright of considerable renown. He is the Frank H. T. Rhodes Professor of Humane Letters, Emeritus, at Cornell University in Ithaca, New York — a testament to the rare harmony of scientific rigour and artistic sensibility he embodies.
His support for Shrutinandan International reflects his deep belief in the universal language of art and the cross-disciplinary power of human creativity.
Tabla Virtuoso & Grammy Laureate
Ustad Zakir Hussain (1951–2024) was a world-renowned tabla virtuoso, composer, percussionist, music producer, and the eldest son of the legendary tabla master Ustad Allah Rakha Khan. He was widely regarded as the greatest tabla player of his generation.
He was awarded the Padma Shri in 1988 and the Padma Bhushan in 2002 by the Government of India, alongside multiple Grammy Awards. The Sangeet Natak Academy of India recognized his mastery, and in 1999 he received the United States National Endowment for the Arts' National Heritage Fellowship — the highest award given to traditional artists in America.
His partnership with Pandit Ajoy Chakrabarty and his blessings for Shrutinandan International speak to the shared mission of elevating Indian classical music on the world stage.
